About Us
Swift Family Dentistry is a small, friendly, locally-owned practice that is currently accepting new patients in historic uptown Roxboro, NC. Our office is dedicated to providing the highest quality dental care in a comfortable and caring environment. We pride ourselves on prevention and thoughtful, conservative treatment when necessary.

Dr. Swift is honored to be the third owner of this practice, which was originally established by Dr. Thomas Alexander and his wife, Barbara Alexander, RDH, after they moved to the area in the 1970s. In the early 1980s, they renovated the historic home that houses our office today, a building that dates back to approximately 1890 originally. After their retirement, Dr. Bennett Houston cared for the practice for several years before Dr. Swift took the reins at the end of 2021. We are proud to continue their legacy of personalized, community-focused care.

Dr. Swift loves helping each patient learn about and choose the dental options that work best for their needs. Our goal is to establish long relationships with each of our patients. We look forward to meeting you!
Dentist and Owner
Dr. Brian Swift
Although born in Iowa, Dr. Brian Swift considers himself a North Carolina native, having lived here since the age of two. He is proud to call this community home. He earned both his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees from UNC–Chapel Hill, where he served as class president all four years.

Dr. Swift is a member of the North Carolina Dental Society, American Dental Association, and Academy of General Dentistry. He is also an active member of the Durham Orange County Dental Society, Pankey Study Club, and John S. Dilday Study Club. He is licensed to practice in both North Carolina and Tennessee. He also maintains an adjunct clinical instructor position at the Adams UNC School of Dentistry in Chapel Hill.

Outside the office, Dr. Swift enjoys watching sports (Go Heels and Braves!), attending country music concerts, and playing guitar. He lives in Durham with his wife, Sue Ann, their daughter Madeline, their dog, Bedford, and their cat, Lilly.

Front Office Administrator
Kerry
Kerry is a certified medical assistant. She graduated from Star Technical Institute at the top of her class, then went on to work for a large pediatric practice in New Jersey for 9+ years. She feels fortunate to have joined Dr. Swift’s practice and has enjoyed making the switch from medical to dental. She is glad to be a part of this great team, having met lots of nice people in Roxboro, and helping patients obtain the healthy smiles they want.
​
In 2017 she and her family moved to Oxford. She and her husband Anthony, with their two adult children, Alicia and Anthony, live on their country farm. They enjoy the country life, taking care of their animals and gardens, as well as spending time on Kerr Lake boating and fishing.
Certified Dental Assistant
Wendy
Wendy is a Certified Dental Assistant and graduated with honors at Alamance Community College in 1994. She has had the privilege to work with some of the most knowledgeable and talented dentists in the Chapel Hill/Durham area in her career and is excited to help people learn more about their teeth and health.
She is a busy wife and mother of two teenage girls. Her family enjoys rural life in Orange County. In her spare time, she likes to sew, play badminton, corn hole, cards and be with friends and family.

Registered Dental Hygienist
Sarah
Sarah has been a dental hygienist for over 19 years. She received her Associate's Degree in Dental Hygiene from Guilford Technical Community College and her Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has worked in offices in Durham, Burlington, and Greensboro, as well as taught dental hygiene at Guilford Tech.
​
She is passionate about educating people about their oral health and loves to help patients achieve their best oral health.
She and her husband live in Mebane with their three daughters and 2 grand dogs. They love being outdoors and soaking up some sunshine at the pool, going to the beach, or mountains.

Registered Dental Hygienist
Lindsay
Lindsay was born and raised in Durham, North Carolina. She graduated from UNC Chapel Hill in 2010 with a degree in dental hygiene. She is passionate about health and fitness and educating people about their oral hygiene.
She enjoys hiking with her sister or pretty much anything outdoors, playing with her dog (Ollie), traveling with her family, reading, country music, and the lake is her happy place.
